SECTION HEAD, WELLNESS AND REHABILITATION SERVICES

The section of Wellness and Rehabilitation Services has continued to execute its mandate which entails ensuring your wellness is maintained by providing services that promote it as well as those that help you navigate through any challenge that could be detrimental to mental health.

Sensitization of Staff on Wellness Issues

In line with the mandate, the section will sensitize members of staff in the month of November 2023. The members of staff will be sensitized in two groups as follows:

Group 1: on 14^th & 15^th November, 2023.

Group2: on 21^st & 22^nd November, 2023.

Sensitization programmes are implemented every quarter when members of staff are invited to express their interest in participating. Sensitization covers the following areas:

1.     Negative effects of alcohol, drug abuse & Prevention

2.     Institution’s employee assistance program

3.     Wellness for staff & students

4.     Stress management

5.     Reduction of workplace stressors specific to institution

6.     Addiction and mental health disorders

7.     Parenting skills for drug use prevention.

Students Sensitization

The section also engages in sensitization of students through various forums. In this quarter, sensitization was done on addiction and mental health disorders, HIV & AIDS Prevention,Transition to the university, negative effects of alcohol,drug abuse & prevention among other student sensitizations activities done within this quarter.   Sample photos are attached.

Counseling and Psychosocial Support

These services continue to be offered on a daily basis at the section offices situated at BSSC Room 143. Both students and staff are encouraged to visit our offices for the uptake of the services. In conclusion, HIV Counselling & testing at Ghana 4 are ongoing for both students and staffs & dependants.
